We built a hangout from free scrap wood
Not every project on the homestead has to cost money. We had scrap wood sitting around from other jobs — leftover boards, odds and ends, nothing pretty. So we turned it into a place to sit, talk, and actually stop for a minute.
It isn’t a finished cabin. It isn’t meant to be. It’s a spot that costs zero dollars and still gets used. On a place where every dollar is supposed to go toward the land, that matters.
We filmed the build so you can see how simple it really is. No fancy tools. No big list of materials. Just using what we already had before we spent anything else.
The land fund is at $365 now. Still a long way from $10,000, but every project that doesn’t cost us money is one more dollar that can stay pointed at the ridge-top piece. That’s the whole point.
